Cross Country Quick Facts

La Roche College is a small (1500 students) Catholic college in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. It is a member of NCAA Division III.

La Roche College is one of eleven teams in the AMCC (Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference).

La Roche College has both men’s and women’s Cross Country teams.
|
•
|
Official Cross Country Meet Distances: Men 8k (5 miles); Women 6k (3.8 miles).

|
La Roche Cross Country Meets: most are on Saturdays in September & October. Runners must be available from early mornings to late afternoon on all Saturdays in the fall.

|
Training routines are set for the team each week by the coach. Runners may do these trainings individually (on their own) or with the team.

|
Training routes are on and off campus; group trainings are held on campus, on nearby tracks, and in North Park.
|
•
|
Top male cross country performance in fall 2008 for 8,000 meters (5 miles): 32:09.

|
Top female cross country performance in fall 2008 for 6,000 meters (3.8 miles): 23:34.

|
The cross country season culminates with our participation in the AMCC championship meet (typically held at the end of October or early November).

All La Roche cross country runners are provided with sandwiches, snacks, and gatorade in the van to and from cross country meets. If you have a specific dietary request regarding snacks, please let the coaches know.
